For universities, participation in such programs is, first of all, an exchange of experience, borrowing advanced educational methods from partners to improve the level of education and teaching in their own university. The programs of the first type are designed for students from Europe, Russia, the USA, Australia and other countries.

The second group is the EU programs – Erasmus and Erasmus Plus, part of the program “Continuing Education”. They contribute to European integration and the strengthening of cultural, national and economic ties in the European space.

Such programs are designed to develop European youth linguistically, educationally, culturally and to maintain a high level of teaching in educational institutions. They are designed for students and teachers.

These programs are funded through various governmental and non-governmental funds. Therefore, during the exchange, students (teachers) receive a monthly stipend of 400 to 1,000 euros for housing, food, health insurance, etc. The amount of the scholarship depends on the program, university and country of study.

Yuri Vashchenko, a fourth-year student at the Leon Kozminski Academy in Warsaw, who recently came from Iceland to study for one semester at the University of Reykjavik, says it was easy enough to take part in the program (in his case, Erasmus) … Only a few documents had to be submitted to Erasmus to participate in the program. These are a certificate of academic success (extract of grades), a certificate of English language proficiency, confirmation of participation in conferences, seminars, forums and a letter in any form, which justifies the desire to study in the selected institution.

The student claims that student exchange programs open up the whole world to young people and provide unlimited opportunities.

“Our group was completely international, out of 30 students only five were Icelanders. This allowed me to meet people from different countries, even from different continents, to get a lot of useful contacts for my future career, ”Yuri Vashchenko emphasizes.

Analyzing the achievements of Polish students of Ukrainian origin, the Polish-Ukrainian program “OsvitaPol” once again emphasizes the attention of applicants and their parents that education in Poland is an unlimited opportunity and a good future for Ukrainian youth.

Visit the online exhibition “Study in Germany” and consult with university representatives

The exhibition “Study in Germany” invites young people to participate

Studying in Germany is a great alternative for those who are not ready to spend exorbitant sums for training in the United States and the United Kingdom. Such a solution has long been optimal for Ukrainians. After all, German public schools offer free programs.

If you are interested in higher education in Germany, visit the online exhibition “Studying in Germany”, which will take place on November 26-27, 2020.

What you need to know about higher education in Germany

In general, study programs at universities are German-speaking. However, some areas offer training in English.

In order to study in Germany, you need to have a document equivalent to a German exam. The Ukrainian school certificate does not give the right to study in Germany.

If, after graduating from school, you study for one year in a Ukrainian university or in a preparatory college in Germany, you can enter a German university. Preliminary training must take place in the same specialty that you will receive in Germany.

Everything is much easier for future masters. Immediately after obtaining a bachelor’s degree, you can enter directly into a master’s degree in Germany.

6 reasons to study in Germany

There are six reasons why German education is popular among Ukrainians:

high reputation and recognition of diplomas all over the world; various educational offers: about 450 accredited universities and 17,500 curricula; there are English language training programs; services for foreign students: provide international departments of universities, affiliate and tandem programs; free or inexpensive training; learning German opens up new professional opportunities.

The following universities from Germany will be represented during the online exhibition “Study in Germany”, which will take place on November 26-27:

German Academic Exchange Service DAAD; University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt; EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY VIADRINA; Darmstadt Technical University; Bauhaus-University Weimar; Ilmenau Technical University.

Roman Rubchenko, a graduate of Michigan and Harvard schools, talks about his learning experience

Harvard graduate Roman Rubchenko: MBAs are people

A graduate of the Michigan University Ross School of Business and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Roman Rubchenko told Osvita.ua about his learning experience.

Roman, you played sports professionally and played in teams in many countries. How much did it help you in life, business and communication with people from different backgrounds?

Basketball has become a tool for me that has given me access to many opportunities. Many people use professional sports as a self-sufficient direction, and I considered basketball (although I played it for 18 years) as a means to achieve certain goals: to see the world, to learn languages. And when at the age of 22 I already had my first education (Louisiana State University) and had to choose between the corporate world and professional basketball, I chose the second, because then in 1996 the trend of globalization began. At that time it was not quite clear what it was, but it was still interesting to see the world and learn how people live in different countries.

So for eight years I played professionally and changed the country and the team every year. My agent didn’t like it very much, but it still allowed me to broaden my horizons. In my life I have lived in ten countries – I was introduced to society and lived the life of this society. And so it is now easy for me to find a common language with people of different national origins, different walks of life, different countries, different cultures.

Now I clearly understand that the only thing I know is that I know nothing. When you have diverse experience, you begin to be more modest about reality, your achievements, and your point of view. And this makes it easier to communicate with people. I do not condemn people, I do not judge, I have my opinion – they have their own, and I allow the existence of both.

And how did it happen that you came to business education?

After eight years of professional basketball, it is very difficult to enter the corporate world with eight years of education (Louisiana State University) and no relevant experience. In this context, business education was necessary compare and contrast essay online 123 help

Michigan University Ross School of Business is one of the best business schools in the world. But why did you choose her after all?

There are two types of candidates for postgraduate education. The first: “I want to get into such a university.” Such candidates apply to a specific university each year until they enter. The second type: “I need such a diploma, and I will apply to five or seven universities at a time.” I was in the second group. I applied to seven universities, and Michigan University Ross School of Business was the best option that met my wishes and requirements at the time.

At the time, Ross School of Business was number one in The Wall Street Journal, number six in Business Week, and Michigan also provided many opportunities for practical work during the school year. Since I didn’t have an internship in business, it was very important for me to fill my resume with something specific: not just to study in Michigan, but to take part in internships and consulting projects. This was also a crucial moment. And the third advantage of this university is that it attracts many recruiting companies.

You mentioned the high positions of the University of Michigan business school in the leading rankings. Why pay attention to ratings when choosing a business school?

What is an MBA? Is this knowledge? No, this is not knowledge! Knowledge can be gleaned from books. Those people who think it’s economics, accounting, finance, are mistaken. Therefore, for example, Skolkovo did not work.

MBAs are people. These are the professors and the students themselves – the listeners of the program. A good professor – yes, he will talk about finances. But I will learn more based on his teaching experience, on how he tells different stories, in what context he teaches theory. And the listeners are those people (students) who had a good experience, who can react accordingly to the words of the professor. So if the contingent is low, what contribution will it make to my education?

Therefore, the higher the level of the program, the higher the level of people who seek to study this program. And so in a business school with a high rating, the average quality of the class is higher than in a regular one. But, in my opinion, the level of the first top 20 schools in the ranking is about the same.

What is characteristic of training in a top business school? What are the features of such training?

Teaching method – case-study. The professor does not tell how everything works, but only acts as a moderator of the event that takes place in the classroom. In my experience, the worst professors are those who teach in our Soviet style: I read something somewhere and retold it. Why pay him money? I can read in the book myself, and there will be no damaged phone.

Good professors have an idea, a concept that they seek to convey. This concept is based on their unique experience, analysis and collective approach.
